Built in 1912, the peat moss factory was the only remaining factory of its type in the Netherlands. It forms a splendid part of our industrial heritage and, fittingly, is now a recognised monument. Restoration work on the factory commenced in 2004, involving the sympathetic use of contemporary materials. Key to the factory’s unique charm is its natural setting alongside the Dommers Canal.
