Griendtsveen is delighted that on 31 March 2011 the Emmen municipal council adopted the zoning plan and the visual quality plan entitled The Recreational Development of Amsterdamsche Veld.
This decision opens the way for the next steps in developing the WildLife Park Europe project.
Realisation
A major early step in the realisation of the WildLife Park Europe is the creation of a landscape in which water is a major element. In view of the significance presence of water, close consultations are already being held with the Velt and Vecht Water Board. These discussions are based on the newly adopted zoning plan and should facilitate the acquisition of the necessary permits.
Griendtsveen has high ambitions in the area of sustainability; water plays a key role in this respect. Already large-scale purification studies are being carried out in the Amsterdamsche Veld in preparation for the large-scale development of the area.
